9:03:00: United Airlines Flight 175 crashes into the south face of the South Tower (2 WTC) of the World Trade Center.
9:37:46: American Airlines Flight 77 crashes into the western side of The Pentagon.
10:03:11: United Airlines Flight 93 crashes in a Pennsylvania field as a result of heroic passengers resisting the hijackers. The [man] eventually tried for plotting the attacks says the United States Capitol was the hijackers' target.
The total number of people who died in the September 11 attacks is 2,977, excluding the 19 hijackers. This includes approximately 2,606 victims at the World Trade Center in New York City, 125 at the Pentagon, and 265 on the planes that were hijacked.
